Fantasy and Flight for Seven Brass is a 7
- 1/2 min. continuous
movement
work written for four trumpets, french horn, tenor trombone and tuba
(basically
a brass quintet with two additional trumpets). The work was
composed
in the spring of 1985 and was premiered that fall by the Paragon Brass
at the Unversity of Akron, School of Music. Since then it has
received
performances by numerous brass ensembles including the Air Force
Academy
Brass and the Chicago Brass Choir. The work was also
featured
in the 1993 International Trumpet Guild Festival with the composer
conducting
the Air Force Academy Brass.
